Late payments not recorded on credit fil

Hi, just wondering if I could possibly have some advice, I had an Npower account in 2017 until I moved out in 2018 and did give my forwarding address as I would have to pay the remaining bill. Unfortunately after just moving to new address my son became seriously ill for a few months before he was admitted to hospital, he ended up staying in hospital for around 4 months to which I also stayed with him. I have no recollection of letters from Npower as I was under so much stress that I probably just ignored them as I’m sure they would have sent contact to my new address. I finally realised that I still owed the debt when I saw my credit report. I called Npower who then said it was with DCA which I set a payment plan up. The question is, on my credit report it’s not been filed  as late payments, it says in good stead, can they overturn this if I’m paying it with the DCA.
Thanks in advance
