Electricity - Comfort Plus White Meter

Options
Hi
I live in a flat with storage heaters and have a Comfort Plus White meter (so I have 3 readings for my electricity - day, night and control (heaters)). I have lived here for four and a half years and Scottish Power have been my electricity provider the whole time. Always been on a fixed tariff with the last one coming to an end last month. I called them mid-January to change to another fixed tariff but was told leaving it to move to their standard tariff would be my cheapest option.
I've had a good few issues with Scottish Power in the past (including them wanting to set my DD at over £120 per month when I first moved in (for a 2 bed flat with one person!) and them taking nearly 2 years to fix a billing error where I ended up in over £700 credit due to the communal meter being on my account) and would like to look into moving supplier. However, given I have a Comfort Plus White meter with 3 readings, I'm finding it very difficult to use comparison sites or even find a supplier that offers a tariff with the 3 types of reading . I've even read somewhere that Scottish Power are the only ones able to provide to such a meter.
Does anyone else have this type of meter? (I'm in Scotland and have heard it's not really common anywhere else).  Has anyone found another supplier? I'd like to try and "shop around" before I phone them again to check I'm actually on their cheapest tariff.
Thanks in advance!

  • Exotic 3 counter meter peculiar now predominantly Scotland only population.  Best fit depends on understanding your wiring/CU. Some lesser mortals such as here in NE do remember them with terror. My last personal knowledge was 1980 ish on E10 ceiling NSH.

It's It's entirely possible that your existing tariff IS best, though escaping the shackles to E7 would be my aim. Wiring/communal meters/rent-lanlord complications need to be overcome before any switch is attempted.

    Best of luck.
