Comparison Sites, are they Genuine ?
Comparison sites. We are advised on here to use the comparison sites and do a tart and jump to the supplier offering what they (the comparison site) shows as being the most competative supplier. Well , I took my usage figures to one site and they gave me an alternative with £65 annual saving. I then took that alternative…

British Gas failed to turn up - can I claim for lost time?
Not sure if this is the right board for this thread, but my boiler packed up on Saturday. As I don't have a homecare plan, I called British Gas to come out to do a one off repair, and the earliest appointment I could get was "between 8 and 1 on Wednesday". I took a day off work, waited in but nobody showed up and there was…

Suddenly a huge electric bill!!!
An organisation I help has been sent a bill for nearly £4,000!!! Consumption up to 2010 was around £250-300 a quarter, then switched to nPower. Mixture of actual readings which were wrongly recorded, day as night, plus very inaccurate estimates have resulted in this big underpayment. They do not dispute the amount of…

It appears theMPRN(for the gas meter) and the MPAN (for the electricity meter) apply to the building next door the owner of which had my house built 25 years ago. All attempts to change supplier fall on stoney ground! To add to the quandery since moving in 10…

set up a new supplier from the off or wait and get an idea of usage first?
It appears I gave a bit too much information in my last post and it got a bit off topic so i'm re-posting with the basics of my question: When moving to a new home is best to: A - Switch energy supplier straight away B - Wait till you've been there a couple of months so you have an idea of your usage and then switch?
