British Gas £100 off bill offer v the Cheap Energy Club

My current energy provider is EDF but I am looking to change to save money.
British Gas are v keen to get me back and have sent me a "voucher" for £100 off plus guaranteed annual discounts if I sign up with them. I am also a member of The Cheap Energy Club via Moneysaving Expert. The Cheap Energy club make no mention of the British Gas deal. They tell me that based on my last year's usage my best bill is to sign up with Southern Electric and save £75 a year (its not an online account either)
My question is: why is the British Gas offer not on the Cheap Energy site as it seems to be offering a good deal? How accurate is The Cheap Energy site info?

The CEC, like any comparison site, only displays generally available tariffs

You are not even talking about a tariff, but a voucher you have been given

The CEC is as accurate as the data on MoneySuperMarket.com, which is the source of the comparative data.

Thank you Wywth. I appreciate your time and didn't mean to cast aspertions on either MoneySavingExpert or CEC. The British Gas deal sounds like a good deal to me and it merely puzzled me that CEC didn't know about it, but I take your point.

At a guess the BG deal will only be available to selected customers that have run their previous accounts well.

Beatrice is not supplied currently with BG. It will be a sweetener to bring her back.

Thank You Joyful and Bargain Galore. I am not currently supplied by BG but was a customer for over 10 years before I swapped. They have been chasing me to go back to them ever since!

I joined CEC to get energy price comparisons and was puzzled as to why the BG deal didn't appear on there, hence my initial question this evening on this site. I now understand that its because its not a tariff, its merely an offer and the CEC can only give prices for tariffs, so that has answered that question. I guess now I have to choose between what seems like a good offer from BG to give me a £100 off my bill "plus guaranteed annual discounts" versus the price from Southern Electric which CEC reckons is the best deal for me.

Many thanks again for everyones time and response
