Time for a new boiler
Hi everyone, My boiler is 15 years old, and is working fine at the moment but I'm aware that it will probably need replacing at some point. We had a quote from British Gas yesterday, and because we had booked the visit in February our quote included the £400 cashback that was advertised then. As well as discount for having…

Does this sound right?
I live in a studio flat in the midlands. I pay £30 a month for my electricity straight to my landlord. According to a bill received from him over a period of just over 2 months (including 3 payments from myself) I have used 931 units @ 20p and owe an extra £95? That means for the 70 days my electricity has cost me £185 for…

The number that came up was 09069590530 . He connected to that number . He was on the phone for nearly 11 minutes and he was asked all sorts…

Has anyone used www.utilitieswarehouse.com?
An ex-colleague has sent me an email regarding the above. Are they any good? As she want to 'do a quote' for us I'm assuming that she could be an agent with them ( they do have agents) and is therefore not independent. Clare

Average energy usage
Hi there I'm trying to get a feel of if our house is any good at energy saving. At the moment, we're paying £52/mo for gas and £32/mo for electricity (throughout the year, although we're currently 400 quid in credit across both supplies). I've just transferred to SWALEC. uSwitch tell me that this'll shave a further 68 quid…

Bamboozled by Bills (Scottish Power)
Why are bills for gas and electricity so complicated? Step forward Scottish Power... We moved out of our old house 6 weeks ago and within 2 weeks had contacted Scottish Power with the meter readings, spoke to the adviser on the phone, got the final bill and paid it promptly. Job Done. I've just received a new bill for the…

grace period
npower have just announced that they are introducing a standing charge for gas supply - they have done this to "simplify" billing, it's now going to cost me an extra £165 a year for the priviledge of buying gas from them. I have notified them that I have declined to accept the increase and have contacted a supplier that…

Npower not taking any payment
My mum switched to Npower using Money Supermarket on 2nd January. Luckier than some, she did receive a contract, albeit near the end of January when it was already too late to cancel as the letter was dated the 9th. Her electricity changed over on 11th Feb and her gas on 21st Feb. She entered her opening electricity meter…

We have the opportunity to move into a property in the next month and its an electric only house so I have some questions if you dont mind as I am totally new to non-gas usage lol. (We are trying to figure out the finances of moving and running costs of the other house). We have storage heaters - I am assuming its economy…

Gas Meter & Supplier Problems
Hi, Wondering if anyone can help with a British Gas pre pay meter problem? Long story short as of end of Feb, our meter seemed to be using an obscene amount of credit. Think we're on over £200 just for March! I obviously know gas is expensive and prices have recently risen by 6% but still this seem an excessive amount of…

EDF Fixed Price 2014 now out of penalties
Hi Folks, I've just joined the MSE Cheap Energy Club and the data shows my EDF Fixed Price 2014 tariff as still liable to early termination fees. This is not the case as these ended on 31 March 2013 giving a full year with no termination fee. Still nothing cheaper on the market though so looks like best to stay put.

misread E7
Hi I will try to say it as short as possible due to late hour I was going to change energy supplier, so in order to get best possible estimates on comparison website I searched for a first bill I submitted in my newly bought house about year ago. But when I digged into it I found out that provider issued to me wrong meter…
