New Supplier wants more money??
Hi, I went through the Cheap Energy Club and got a list of suppliers which would save me money. I switched to EDF to save £120 per year. The paperwork has arrived and EDF want me to pay a direct debit £40 a month more than my current supplier. What did I do wrong?? Is there a way of going through the process again to check?

Every time I've switched, the new company always wants to charge me more per month than my old one. I'm not sure why, but I usually just contact them and tell them the difference and they adjust it. Sometimes they can't change it in time for the first payment, but usually from the second. If it's only £5-10 then I've left it a few months before asking, but if it's more (I've had up to £60 more) then I ask straight away. Some companies won't lower it as far as you would like but will meet you in the middle (especially if it's coming up to winter I find) e.g. old payment was £65, new company wanted to charge £95 but would settle on £750

Did you submit your actual usage figures in KWH not £££? Have you been underpaying your old supplier?Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
