Confused
I spend £719 per annum on electric with British gas, includes 55% economy 7 and with the £30 cancellation fee on websaver 11, its seems to change to a fixed price, I will be worse off or around the same if British gas increae prices by 10%. Any views on this????

Single energy product discounts unfair compated to dual
Hi folks, I was just wondering if the discounts you get for having a single energy product with a supplier are a bit unfair when you compare them to dual fuel products. I was just looking at my supplier and they offer an extra 2% discount if you have electricity and gas with them rather than just electricity. My problem is…

Energy Save
Hi I wonder if anyone out there can help me. Today I had a knock at my door and there stood a young lady. She claimed she was from Energy Save and it was about the overcharges on my energy supplies. She said that I should have had a letter a couple of weeks ago. I told her that we had nothing in the post and I even…

Cancellation fees - anyone ever escape without one?
Just looking at changing gas/electricity providers but I have to wait until September as that's when our British Gas fix ends. Spoke to someone at BG today to ask when they don't charge a fee, looking at their wording it states, "If you cancel the agreement, either by moving to another gas or electricity supplier or…

confusion comparison sites
There are now so many comaprison sites for energy all offering different rewards to get you to sign up through them, it has bcome a minefield for the average person. Just a quick count off the top of my head; moneysupermarket, go compare, uswitch, saveitbuddy, and not for getting comparethemarket. How are we suppose to…

Solar pv saving ?
I am shortly having solar pv installed but am having difficulty figuring out whether I would be better to turn the gas boiler off during the day and use the immersion to heat the water utilising the 'free' electricity when I'm not using anything else (ie washing machine, kettle etc). I am fairly certain that this won't work…

comparison sites - warning: price increases
I am with Scottish Power. Concerned about their increases from 1 August I used two comparison sites U switch and Which. I discovered that both sites have calculated the whole of my my annual bill based on the new charges rather than June & July at pre-increase prices. If my calculations are correct this inflated my annual…

Anyone else had SSE (Scottish & Southern Electricity) Quidco declined?
Undeterred by my experiences with Npower & Quidco I completed a switch to SSE in April 2011. Once again my £46.40 Quidco didn't track so I lodged a query with Quidco. They asked for details even SSE didn't have but I provided all my account numbers, supply details etc to confirm the switch. Today I received a "cashback…

Hello, I am new on here and sorry if I seem a bit dim but could someone explain how to work out your bills? Is it as simple as KWH X the unit price in p? also when using price comparison site I have notice that some suppliers front load the first 500 KWH for example- how do you understand that in relevance to your own…

Nectar with British Gas-Beware
I received a letter from Nectar saying I would receive 15,000 extra points (approx £75.00) if I swithed to BG. I chose a fixed rate for 15 months and signed up. Phoned BG today to see how points would be allocated to my card and was told it did not apply to fix term contract. Bit of a discussion where the BG advisor slated…

EDF Surcharge
I've just noticed on my 2011-2012 statement something called a 'Surcharges' for a particular sum of money. Does anyone know what this is and what it's a surcharge for? Thanks

Different results at different sites
I managed to get the Price Protection 2014 tariff from Eon after having done some comparisons - only £30 difference between that and EDF 2014 so thought I would stay with Eon after being on FOL8. However now I'm not so sure; Eon quoted £1149 based on my usage. Moneysupermarket.co agrees with this. However energyhelpline…

Fix, does that mean don't sign up to what appears good online deals?
With Bristh Gas (Dual Fuel), their table estimation Fix is the highest, compared to the online web and online tariffs. So are these Web and online ones going to shoot through the roof soon?

Scottish Power: if only
Scottish announced in a press release that they were raising electricity prices by 10% on average, gas by 19%. Beware, the variation around that is massive. We switched because Scottish were relatively cheap in London and are now faced with an electricity rise of 36.8% for primary units, 18.7% for secondary. And on gas an…
