Single energy product discounts unfair compated to dual

Hi folks,
I was just wondering if the discounts you get for having a single energy product with a supplier are a bit unfair when you compare them to dual fuel products.
I was just looking at my supplier and they offer an extra 2% discount if you have electricity and gas with them rather than just electricity.
My problem is that I live in an all electric apartment. I just feel slightly penalised as I'm not unloyal but just don't have a choice. Are there any companies out there that offer similar deals if you cannot have dual fuel agreements? Is there a way for the supplier to check and then offering a similar discount if you cannot have dual fuel?
Thanks
Rob

I have an electric only house like you and I get 6% discount with E.ON for paying by monthly Direct Debit. If I had gas as well I'd get an additional 2% but instead I get a £20 per year 'no mains gas' discount. For me that works out at more than 2% so it's actually better for me.0

Hi Stewie,
Thanks for the reply - I'm with Eon and have never been offered a no mains gas discount. I'm going to call them regarding changing my current tariff so will mention this as well.
Thanks

EDF offer a no mains gas discount also. But for the sake of 2% (which on a flat is going to be about 10p)... haven't you got anything better to do than call energy companies at six in the evening?!0

I use about £60 a month on average so 2% to me would be about £15 per year which I'd prefer I my pockets than someone else's. If 10p was 2% then it would mean an annual bill of £5!! I wish

I think it's only something they offer in certain areas and on certain tariffs.0 -
When I enquired about this with EON I was told that the £20 discount is only given if you have an economy 7 meter.0

Hi POPPYOSCAR
I'm sorry you were told this. The type of meter has no bearing at all on whether customers are eligible for the no mains gas discount.
This discount is given to residential electricity customers who have no access to mains gas.
However, it only applies to customers in areas where we are the host electricity supplier. This is in the old Eastern, East Midlands and Electricity North West (NORWEB) regions.
Hope this clarifies the issue POPPYOSCAR and sorry again you were given duff info. Let me know if you need any more details as will be happy to help.
