Energy Save
Hi
I wonder if anyone out there can help me.
Today I had a knock at my door and there stood a young lady. She claimed she was from Energy Save and it was about the overcharges on my energy supplies. She said that I should have had a letter a couple of weeks ago.
I told her that we had nothing in the post and I even confirmed this with my husband.
She stated that they were nothing to do with our energy suppliers but a government regulator. Apparently all energy suppliers provide details/rates/tarriffs to the regulators and if you have been charged more than 15% over ????? for a period of more than a year, then you should have received a letter from Energy Save.
She left after clicking her electronic device, stating that we should get another letter within two weeks. She confirmed my address with me but did not have my name or any other details.
Has anyone else heard of Energy Save or this type of thing happening?

I stongly suspect that its a scam.
What details did you provide? That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Sounds a scam to me.
Did see show any identification?
Did you give any personal information (name, DOB, supplier info?)0 -
There *is* an Energy saving trust but I'm not sure this is the sort of thing that they do - I would also be wary about this.0

Did she get a look at your gas/electricity meter?0

Almost definately a scam if you ask me, sounds like the type of rubbish a supplier salesman/woman would come out with, if I were a gambling man I'd put money on Southern electric...Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0

15% over what? If she gave a unit rate where you put those question marks its a sales trickMissing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -
Sorry for not replying sooner.
She didn't offer to show me any ID until I asked. I gave her no personal details. I asked her what details she had but she didn't reply. She didn't get a look at my meters.
I assumed it was a scam as it seemed to good to be true.
Thanks for all the replies.0
