is this legal?
My sister is being charged for NOT USING ENOUGH gas each quarter. When she phoned to ask about it they said that it was a "recalibration fee" and she would be better off leaving her gas on so she didn't fall below the required amount. What does this really mean & is it legal? She is with British Gas xx:mad:

Gas bill DOUBLED this year when I used less...
I'm with British Gas, and just got my quarterly bill for the last 3 months and it's twice what it was last year. I'm wondering how this is possible as I actually used the heating less this year, and when I did it was at a much lower temperature (25% instead of 80+ %). It's saying in the last 3 months I have used 1393…

EDF - need to rewrite their systems!
Briefly - I transferred to EDF for Gas & Elec last October. Got a Quidco cashback and EDF sign on fee - bot at dual fuel rates. Nice! Gas transferred first and elec a few weeks afterwards. Don't know why the gap. In February, I got a letter from EDF's Steve Hayfield saying that I needed to transfer my electricity or I…

Gas meter change - updated 13/4: Ooops - they won't do it after all!
Had a letter last week from National Grid Metering saying that my gas meter was nearing the end of its useful life and that they would come today to change it (and obviously not even a rough indication of when during the day they might turn up!). I know they are supposed to inform my provider of the swap but given that I'm…

British Gas ruined my credit rating!
Last year I made a few late payments and BG have recorded this with Experian as missed payments. This has actually ruined my credit rating. At no time on the phone when requesting a delay to the payment has anyone ever said to me that it would affect my credit rating. I now know that this is implied in the red letter. Has…

E on over charging?
Does anyone use E.on for gas and electric? Is there cheaper gas and electric suppliers out there? I've just got a bill for over £500 only live in a one bedroom flat I'm not sure if this is a mistake or they are really that expensive. I only payed £40 a month in my last flat when I was on a pre paid meter.

I'm at the end of my patience - HELP!
Guys my gas and electricity usage seems stupidly high. I am unsure if it's our usage or the tariff. We're moving to EDF from npower but the following is my problem: Electricity Usage: 15/1/2011 - 14/3/2011 = 2836 = 119kwh @ £0.163 + 2717 @ £0.1275 = £365.42!!!!!!!!!!!!! What on earth! We have an electricty monitor from…

Trying to compare gas and electricity prices
Dear All I think I'm going slightly mad here so hope someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong (if anything). I have so far tried 4 comparison sites to compare gas and electricity prices and I've put in the same details on each site. I've used KWH rather than my payments so that they can calculate prices on what I've…

E.on Fixed electricity rates?
Hello All I currently use Eon for both my Gas and Electricity on the saver online 3 option. Prepayment nightmare
I moved into my new home on 17th Dec last year and found that it had a prepayment meter for electricity. I have never had one before so was a bit surprised but worked out what I needed to do. However it was eating my money at a ridiculous rate so I phoned the supplier to come take it out. I was advised that they could not…

First bill with EDF price increase
Hi all, Just got my first EDF bill and from 2nd March it shows a new kwh price as per the letter they sent me before. I'm sure the increase was in single digits but the figures dont stack up to me. Before 2nd March kwh price was 2.891p, after is 3.353p .. I make that nearly a 16% increase, or is my maths shoddy? Also I…
