Briefly - I transferred to EDF for Gas & Elec last October. Got a Quidco cashback and EDF sign on fee - bot at dual fuel rates. Nice!

Gas transferred first and elec a few weeks afterwards. Don't know why the gap.

In February, I got a letter from EDF's Steve Hayfield saying that I needed to transfer my electricity or I would lose my dual fuel discount. What? They had already sent me an initial first electricity bill!

Checked on line and saw that I wasn't getting dual fuel discount for electricity, so rang EDF as their letter said I had to. Their CS guy was most helpful, redid my elec bills with dual fuel and explained that the difference was that my gas and electricty accounts had been set up with a slightly different format on the address thereby causing a mismatch. Now how that could happen except at their end escapes me as I did a single transfer out. No problem, as long as it was sorted.

Fat chance! Yesterday I got a letter from Steve Hayfield telling me that as I hadn't got in contact with them following his last letter (their system actually records that I did!!) they were dropping my dual fuel discount on my gas a/c.

Back in touch again, and I discover that my account addresses had not been brought into line were still slightly different, so CS rep changed them to the same address and I asked that she raised an internal complaint. So did I via their web site. (The difference was that the electricity account had the area of my town included but the gas didn't. Everything else, including Post Code were identical)

But here is the real joke. The letter I got re my gas account was actually using the electricity form of my address!!!!!

What sort of incompatibility problems has this organisation got? Frankly, if they can't sort this out and confirm to me that they have done so once and for all, then they have broken their dual fuel contract with me and I will be transferring out

honestly exact same thing has happened to me.

signed up via quidco for dual fuel. after a few weeks got a letter sayin the date my energy would change. a few weeks after the gas change i got a letter sayin they cant change my electricity to them despite giving me a ate theyd change. numerous fone calls later and the sayd thered been an error. still to this day they only take the direct debit for my gas and on my online acc it shows as gas only yet when i call them they say im def dual fuel and they take payment for the leky over phone.

they are a shambles and as soon as my deal expires ill be off . the service is a disgrace.

in comparison was with scottish power never had any probs. when i left they gave me a £40 bonus crazy

I had the exact opposite experience :)
EDF have been great for the last year and a bit I have been with them, in comparison to Scotish Power who gave me and my OH the worst problems we have ever had with any company, not just utility company.
