Hello All
I currently use Eon for both my Gas and Electricity on the saver online 3 option. I am currently on economy 7, so use my washing machine and dishwasher at night, however I was wondering if I would be better off on a single rate throughout the day.
Can anyone tell me if Eon offer such a rate as it is not clear from their website.
What single rates are other people being charged with other providers?
Many thanks
Jamie

    Hi Jamie,

I would work out your consumption on the night rate, or ask E.ON for this, then you can decide if changing to a one rate tariff would save you.

E.ON will let you change to a one rate instead of E7 without the need for a meter change, so all can be done easily.

E7 normally only works out beneficial to those with electric storage heating.

Let me know if you need any more info.

Of course Eon offer both E7 and standard rates, anything not called E7 is the latter. Presumably you have night storage heaters, otherwise why else would you be on E7? To make E7 pay you need to be using around 33% of your consumption at the off peak rate, if not it's probably costing you more. Running a w/m and a d/w on E7 is not going to use enough units to balance the penalty you pay for all your peak rate consumption
So check your billing and that will tell you.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

    Hi Jamie,

The rates aren't necessarily fixed, that depends on the tariff, (that's a different issue).

We can't give unit prices on the forum, but if you send me your address or account number to the email address in my profile page, I will get the info back to you that way.
