Just had a young chap at the door asking to see one of my bills to check it! yeah right! he said he wanted a number from the back of the bill in order to check we were not being charged more than 11p per unit etc etc Bit suspicious of his motives really and since we do all our gas & electric online, I said had no bill to…

I need to install a Gas supply to a flat - any advice?
I want to buy a 1st floor flat, but it doesn't have any Gas supply. I want the control of a Gas combi boiler and a Gas hob, so need to get a gas supply for a central heating company to install boiler etc. I've been told that I can only ask UK Grid to do this and that they will charge a lot to do it. There is a Gas supply…

I feel misled by EON
I'm an eon customer and have been for a number of years. At the weekend I logged onto my account and checked to see if I would be better off switching my tariff. I found the online discount of 20.20% on fix-online 8 very attractive, compared this with my current saveonline tarrif and decided I would take the plunge and…

Additional cashback via MSE problem
Back in February, I took advantage of a MSE offer that provided an extra £50 to switch gas and electricity. http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/tips/17-02-2010/ I switched via energyhelpline.com, which should have given me £65 cashback (£15 plus additional £50). Now yesterday I was paid £50 cashback, which was nice and…

Success with lowering d/d
Thanx to Martin Lewis I finally took the initiative and phoned my energy suppliers Southern Electric. I pay by d/d for both gas & elec. As my electricity bill was always in credit by just under £100, they still didn't adjust my d/d. It was still stuck at £48. I just accepted this until I read Martin's info on claiming…

I was with Eon for about 3 weeks in 2008. I quickly realised their admin was slightly lacking when I recieved 3 letters giving wildly different direct debit details. So I cancelled. I did recieve final bills (eventually) & paid them by card over the phone. About a year later I recieved a letter thanking me for signing up…

Southern Electric bill seems LOW
My partner and I live in a 2 bedroom flat, just electricity, no gas. We moved in Feb 20th, informed the current supplier (Southern Electric) of the meter reading etc and agreed to set up a Direct Debit for £50 to cover our costs. We then spoke to them in mid March and they informed us we were using less than expected and…
