Is there gas in your road, or do you have a supply pipe in your property?

Suggests £540 +VAT for excavation and reinstatement. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
When I enquired I think they wanted about £420 (though I'm not in your area & there are already pipes outside in the street to connect to)
If you're not in that type of location it can be thousands / unviable - a relative & neighbours decided oil was a better bet as a result.
If you have a look at Consumer Focus website there will be a list of Gas suppliers & prices in your area & if you ring one they should be able to give you more info / a quote.
Good luck0 -
The company you need to contact in West Sussex is Southern Gas Networks. Go to www.sgn.co.uk and click on Connections. I think you'd be in the region of £673 for a new connection. Thats the minimum charge unless you're prepared to do all the digging!
Hope this helps.0 -
That's ridiculously reasonable.
I asked to relocate my gas meter about four metres,
from inside to front of house, and they (Transco) were quoting something like a thousand, about three years ago.0 -
If you cast your minds back to the days of the mighty British Gas Corporation..you know..the nationally owned behemoth which dealt with all things gas...you would have got a gas service and meter fitted free of charge...happy days...ah well..the public gets what the public wants.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0
