I have just returned from my local Tesco (Mansfield) and they are selling off 11watt and 20watt low energy BC bulbs for 1p. ANYONE ELSE TIED INTO AN EVERGREEN CONTRACT with BRITISH GAS??
I've been trying to switch from British Gas to Scottish Power on our Business account. At the moment we are paying 12.34p/KWh and 37.9p/day with BG (Scottish Power and Eon are offering 8.9p/KWh and 19p/day, fixed for 3 years. - a potential saving of about £2000 per year.) My latest bill for this quarter (the first since I switched from British Gas) is £106.07, for both gas an electricity. Would there be any advantage for me to…

Electricity Meter - who moves it, the supplier or your own electrician?
I need to get my meter moved - can my electrician do it ( he's going to totally rewire ) or does it have to be the meter owner ie my electricity supplier ? If it's the supplier ( in this case edf ) do they charge ? I vaguely remember it being extortionate amounts to get a meter moved but thought that was gas, could be…

Save money with 2 for 1 loft insulation
Wickes are selling their Easy Lay top up loft insulation 2 for the price of 1 (£16 instead of £32 a roll) and offering free next day delivery (over £45) if you order from their website. Obviously this is a good time of year to be buying insulation and if fuel prices go up as much as is forecast then you cannot afford to…

Gas Boiler v Immersion Heater
With the current gas prices I was wondering how the economics of using timed immersion heater v gas boiler work out. We have a condensing gas boiler and for hot water have it on twice a day for 2 hrs. Had the boiler down last week and on immersion for 2 x 1hr the water seemed hotter than with gas. Just the 2 of us so not a…

Trouble is the tariff I want to switch to, Eon price protection, has the apply button missing, as do a few of the other tariffs listed. Anyone know what's going on? Will I be able to switch through moneysupermarket and take advantage of the £30 cashback or do I just have to switch through Eon? Thanks all

Price capping
I'm not sure about price capping. I am with British Gas and if I price cap for two years, at the end of the two year period is my bill going to increase by whatever price rises there have been. And if so am I not just as well to take the price increases as and when they happen rather than in one big hit.
