Which is better standing charge or NSC
Options
I wonder what everyones opinion is about wether it is better to pay a daily standing charge or to pay higher electricity price for first 900kwh. I suppose I will now be quite a high user as I cook by electric and we have 3 games systems. I use a tumble dryer in the winter . I use a dishwasher but have low energy light bulbs. I am totally confused as to what I should do. have just moved into our new house so I am on standard electricity online with a standing charge. But am looking to go capped or change my tarriff. I just don't know wether to go SC or NSC.

The daily standing charge and the additional charge for the first xxx units called primary/secondary units or tier1/tier2 units usually come to the same amount, if you use all the primary/tier1 units.
The advantage of the Tier1/tier2 tariff is only for those with very low consumption who do not use their full Tier1 allocation of units. This is usually for those who use little gas and have heat off in the summer.
NPower have a different system of weighted(sculpted) primary units so the above paragraph will not apply.0 -
