The online service is really just paperless billing, depending on the company you get either a cash amount as a discount or a percentage so it does work out a bit cheaper, you can also enter meter readings online, keeping the billing as accurate as possible.
The payment card is just quarterly billing with easy payments meaning you dont get any discounts for direct debit etc.
If you are with E-on or Southern electric you can get an extra 3% discount for paying you bills within 10 days of recieving them.
If you can, try to get onto direct debit and keep them up to date with regular meter readings so you dont get any nasty surprisesMissing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -
I switched tarrifs a couple of moths ago when we were first advised to to so and ended up still with British Gas but on a different tariff. Does anyone know if I am likely to be locked in to this tariff for a period of time or can I look for a capped tarrif as Martin is advising to do.Everything you need is out there - you just need to ask..................:A0

is it cheaper now you switches tarrif?0

Tarrif is cheaper now - it is the click energy tarrif and I got a £15 cashback for it - which makes me think there must be some sort of limit to how many times you change, otherwise you could coin it in with the cashback websites !Everything you need is out there - you just need to ask..................:A0

were you get the 15.00 cashback?0

were you get the 15.00 cashback?
Just a guess but I'm thinking Moneysupermarket due to the derisory amount on offer  £25 for a single sale or £55 for a dual sale through Quidco. Don't let Moneysupermarket keep up to 50% of the 'sweetener'.
PS I switched 4 times in a year for cashback purposes and I've had no hassle. HTH.Call me Carmine....
HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??0 -
hi , i need a bit of advice i getmy gas and electric from E-On and at the oment i owe them £1400(long story!) they wanted me to pay£200 per month, which stupidly i agreed to as the person on the other end of the phone wasnt budging when i said i couldnt afford this, so i agreed just to get rid of them. because of this, and knowing i couldnt afford it, i paid 1 month then couldnt pay any more, my account is now in the hands of E-Ons debt collectors and they have threatened to cut off my supply if i dont pay in full, or make a payment arrangement, or have pre-payment meters fitted, what i want to know what is the best option, i have heard thast pre-payment meters are very expensive and you pay alot more for your gas and electric. i know its my own fault that im in this fix but i really would appreciate some advice....anyone??? thanks x0
