Moving into my new flat soon, which supplier?

Hi Everyone,
I'm moving into my new flat on Monday, and I'm trying to sort out my utilities.
I've been trying to use comparison websites, but obviously I don't have any suppliers to compare with or change from.
How do I go about trying to find the best deal? Is capped the way forward at the minute?
Thanks for any feedback:)

You'll have to accept the current suppliers when you move in. If there's a meter, there's a supplier. Ask the vendor/EA/LA/current tenant, etc Any switch takes 4-6 weeks from application.
Without any idea of how much you will consume, your kind of stuck. Unless the existing supplier seems outrageouly expensive, stick with them for say 6 months and review the position then"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
