Getting OH to sort out our Credit Cards
Hi everyone - glad to know we're not the only ones in debt! I need some advice... all our credit cards are in the name of my other half, but he won't pull his finger out and get them into some sort of order. What tactics have any of you used to get your OH to sort out stuff like this? I control all our other finances, but…

How sad is this - I want to get my CC bill !!
Yes I know I can't quite believe it either, but we have a Tesco credit card that we put all our spend on each month and pay off in full. This works for us as we have a One Account so the longet the money is in our account each month, the more it's working towards our mortgage. Recently however our CC bill has been getting…

What is good on your credit file?
I have some things on my credit file but not sure if they are good or bad to keep. As you know sometimes organisations are slow in updating your credit file but can this also be helpful? I have a couple of old storecards/catalogues that are still getting a green 0 every month and they have a 0 balance, but 1 has an allowed…

Change of mortgage
We have had money problems (BIG) in the past through real stupidity. We have a mortgage with Burmingham Midshires which is fixed until June this year. We have 9 defaults all of which are fully settled and the most recent default date is Sept last year. Of the 8 defaults 4 were actually cleared 2 years ago but until I got…

Naive question time!!
I'm trying to get a DMP but I keep hearing on the radio about being able to reduce your payments and then your debts being cleared in 5 years. Is this something different? is it a no-no? if i do a DMP with CCCS will it take years and years to pay off or will the Loan/CC company's write it off? confused

Full and Final Settlement question
Hi I've been contacting our creditors to see what they would be prepared to accept as full & final settlement. Most of our unsecured debt is with Yorkshire Bank on two foolish consolidation loans we did a couple of years ago. Now, the lady at YB told me that they will not accept a reduced amount as full settlement on a…

Well, I've been thinking about how to post this thread for a few weeks now, and I can't quite believe I am doing. Finally today, after eleven years of owing to all comers (or so it felt) I am debt free :j . My overdraft facility is going to be gone the next time I go to the bank to talk to them and the cards are all clear.…

Hi Everyone I got in contact with Harrington Brooks - (apart from getting into debt this is the biggest mistake I have ever made) last year.
