Finally offered a current account!!

Yes!, I now know that I am becoming debt free!!!
I went into my local Halifax and asked about upgrading my account from the basic cardcash one (as I'm sicked of my visa electron card being refused because not everywhere accepts it). To my huge surprise I was offered a current account with cheque book, switch / guarantee card and an overdraft of £300!! Woohoo all these years of bad credit are finally coming to an end! Its taken me six years after a messy divorce etc, but to all of you who are still on the up - keep going you can do it! One day you will have a day like mine today then it will all feel worthwhile
 :money: To Martin if you ever see this - Thank you for your fantastic money saving advice, it really is possible!!

Well done
Remember, the overdraft limit is just that, a limit, not a target0 -

That's great..think you've earned it!! i'm currently going the other way around and am swaping my gold switch card with £250 cheque guarantee for a basic cash card. used to feel good to flash the card but i bet it won't feel as good as when i am finally debt free.
think you could keep the overdraft. after 6 years of hard slog you've probably got enough self control.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 043 :j

Very good news, well done. I'd suggest you got rid of the OD too or at least reduce it to £50 - just in case something goes wrong. You've worked hard to get this far and did it without having an OD - that's the way to carry on IMHOLeason learnt :beer:0
