Need help
We need to transfer a small balance from a card that is basically taking the pee with interest. Won't go into details but just wondered if there were any credit cards that we can move a balance of just £200 to with no BT fees and preferably with introductory 0% interest? Thought Barclaycard was the answer, but…

Advice on new BT and purchases CC
We have a Sainsbury's CC. The 0% offer finishes at the end of November so we need to get another sorted soonish. We can't go for the Halifax one as they're the same company as Sainsbury's. Any recommendations for a CC which gives 0% on balance transfers and purchases and does'nt charge a fee? We previously did a BT from…

Credit checks
I know there is no definate way to tell how banks etc give you a credit rating, but are there any basic rules I should be following? The reason I'm asking is I am looking into doing a balance transfer but as Ive done this on a couple of occasions now I have around 5 credit cards (most of which I dont use anymore!) and want…

Credit Card Shuffle
Hi This is my first post after hearing Martin Lewis on BBC Radio 5 a couple of days ago. I heard his last few comments regarding a credit card shuffle. Now, my situation is that I have 3 credit cards and I am only just coming round to paying off more than the minimum payment after finishing university. I heard that I could…

Capital One 0% until 2007 - experiences on how long it takes to get decision?
Dear All I tried to apply online for the Capital One card (0% BT until 2007). Although the site says "decision within 1 minute" I was told my application would need further investigation, and it could take 10-14 days to receive a letter in the post (I have a reasonable credit history/rating BTW). It's now day 12, and I…

Fee to be charged on MBNA Platinum card
I have an MBNA Platinum credit card which has not been used for some time. On Friday, I got a letter saying they were introducing a £15 fee for this card. There is obviously nothing outstanding on the card. They included a telephone number which was an automated system to cancel the card. This is what I have done. Is this…

Inactive CC transaction
Hope this is the right board for this question. It isn't exactly a question about money-saving but I hope somebody can put my mind at rest. In April I placed an order with an online company for an electrical product which was not due to be released until June. I "paid" for this with my Visa credit card. The inverted commas…

Vanquis Taking Time?
Hi all, My Husband applied I think about 3 weeks ago for a Vanquis Card and sent the form back by return, the only thing he's had back from them though is another application form with a standard letter like the first application form he received?. I understand mailshot mistakes like this might be made anyway, but has…

Would a card company reject me?
Hi all Would a card issuer reject me if I was unemployed but still got about £8k (on benefits) per year? Does the money actually come into it or is employment the main factor here? Thanks

Liverpool Victoria Card - Interest on cash
In case anyone was thinking of taking out LV's credit card for use abroad, its no longer such a great card. They introduced a fee for purchases outside Europe earlier in the year. From November 2005 they are now be charging 12.9% interest (APR) on cash advances, in addition to their cash advance fee (1.5% or £1.50 min). So…

End of 0% cards imminent?
Can anyone guess what will happen if 0% credit is ended? I have noticed a tightening of lending criteria. Is it a position the credit card companies are railroading us into? What do you think? Sleep soundly!

Paypal scams?
Someone offered me a very good deal with something I have been after and I am going to pay by Paypal. However, I am a little worried about getting scammed. If when I make the payment, the money is taken from the card, and something does happen to go wrong, then the CC company will surely refund the money, right?

Why you will never be asked for your PIN by your card company
I thought it might be useful to explain why you will never be asked for your PIN number by your credit card company. Basically because only you and the computer knows that number - your PIN number is retained by the card company's computer in an encrypted format. There are a handful of IT security personnel who could…

BT will I still be insured ???
Not very clear on this but I have just paid for my holiday on my barclaycard visa, I think I get some sort of Insurance(Goods and Services) if anything goes wrong. I can't really afford to pay it all off at the end of the month so was thinking of BT to sainsbury's or Asda. If I do this ; 1)will the insurance still be valid…

House rent on credit card
Hey all, as I am renting a house for ~1300p per month would it be possible that the agency sucks the amount out from one of the credit cards. Out of that I could profit from the offers like: purchasing interest 0% or every spent coin/purchase will give you money back like with the egg card. Is there any chance for that or…
