BT will I still be insured ???

Not very clear on this but I have just paid for my holiday on my barclaycard visa, I think I get some sort of Insurance(Goods and Services) if anything goes wrong. I can't really afford to pay it all off at the end of the month so was thinking of BT to sainsbury's or Asda.
If I do this ;
1)will the insurance still be valid for the holiday.
2) will I have enough time to apply and BT if my next bill is due out at the end of the month. normally pay on the 10th.
I am new to all this. Thanks of any advise
