Advice on new BT and purchases CC

We have a Sainsbury's CC. The 0% offer finishes at the end of November so we need to get another sorted soonish. We can't go for the Halifax one as they're the same company as Sainsbury's. Any recommendations for a CC which gives 0% on balance transfers and purchases and does'nt charge a fee?

We previously did a BT from Egg to Cap1 which we don't use for purchases as we just wish to pay it off, so we can't use Cap1 either.

Also, is'nt there a problem with providers charging first for new purchases before they take payment for the BT? A bit garbled, I know, but I'm sure the financially sussed know what I mean.

PS I know there's a CC table for this sort of thing but it pickles my brain so some clear advice would be most welcome. John has a bat, Janet has a ball sort of thing. :D

However, your need for fee-free BT's AND purchases restricts the options available, and especially as you have discounted HBOS (because IF would have fitted the bill).

Therefore I "think" you need to be looking at RBS group products (eg NatWest/RBS/Mint). I believe Mint have a good deal running until next July, but the BT/cheques are only fee-free after the end of November.

You should not place any reliance on the above - do your own research and read the T&C's carefully.

As to your "order of payments" question, these are always listed in the product summary boxes. Payments are "generally" applied to the lowest interest debt first, which means "ideally" you should never spend on a BT card once you've completed the BT. If you obtain a card with 0% on both BT's and purchases, then obviously this won't apply to your repayments.
