Fee to be charged on MBNA Platinum card

I have an MBNA Platinum credit card which has not been used for some time. On Friday, I got a letter saying they were introducing a £15 fee for this card. There is obviously nothing outstanding on the card.

They included a telephone number which was an automated system to cancel the card. This is what I have done.

Is this a ploy by MBNA to get rid of dormant account holders?

I don't have this card, but I think this has nothing to do with dormant accounts and is much worse than you think:

You got it, they don't want smart !!!!!! punters who take 59 days credit and 0% stoozers who settle their accounts with no profit, they only make money out of the suckers owe them and can't clear their balances or they can scam with exhorbitant late payment fees and the mugs who fell for their cheques through the post.

Just watch the next move will be to follow Barclaycard and jack up interest charges, probably even by more, which will make it even harder for those who are already struggling to pay their balances and loan sharking interest .

These honey trap Armani suited back street Hucksters and Shiesters from Delaware, Illinois know all the tricks. Hard times are coming down for those who owe and cannot pay in full NOW.

Just closing two accounts with them, these low lifes ain't shafting me for £30 hell would freeze over first.
