Planning ahead - Likely settling abroad
Hi all, In my job, I anticipate that I will be moving abroad to Australia/NZ in a year or two. As I have been there a few times and really liked there, I may consider residing in there for the longer term. So it means that I am likely to do transactions like buying a house when I am there. Are there any banks in the UK…

bank Balances
Years ago I read somewhere that it was an offence to write a cheque if you knew there were insufficient funds in your account at the time of writing. Is it therefore an offence to pay by debit card if you have insufficient funds in your account but you know that your salary will be paid in the next day?

HSBC - Charge for statements if you have a 'green account'
I have a green student account with HSBC. I needed 3 months bank statements as I've applied for housing benefit.
