Hi I just wanted some advice. I’m a long long loyal customer virgin in fact I’ve never been with anyone else. I have a 350mb connection with free evening and weekend calls. Which I never use. I was paying £39.99 a month with discounts for a year then my bill went up recently and now my new bill is £46. I tried to discuss…

Has anyone moved from Virgin to Shell Broadband (or any other 60Mb+ land line provider)?
Hi, My Virgin broadband contract deal has come to an end so I will start paying ~£40 per month from April. I am tempted to try one of the superfast over the phone services to see if they are any good. Shell are an equivalent cost of £18.74 per month for 63Mb. Has anyone moved from Virgin to one of these 60Mb+ landline…

Hi guys. My broadband suddenly stopped working this afternoon and the ISP said they did all they could and I should book and engineer. Before doing so I was wondering if there is any telecommunications engineer here that could tell me that if I manage to put back one of the wires (2nd from bottom of socket where the slot…

Can I extend WiFi range of Virgin media Hub 3.0?
Hi. I currently have the 3.0 hub. VM engineer recently replaced the previous earlier model as the idea was to plug landline into new hub (had landline issues). Following this, the phone didn’t work and the WiFi is worse. Engineer left without testing. Now in the furthest point in my flat (bedroom) which is not particularly…

Virgin media price hike
In January 2021, I was notified by VM that my broadband price would increase by £3. Therefore, i phoned up and renegotiated my contract for £22 for a further 18 months. For the first two months in february and march the price was £22, now in april it has increased to £26. For broadband only, is this a mistake?

Switching to Sky Broadband and keeping existing number
We're thinking of switching to Sky superfast broadband, but I've noticed the topcashback site says, "If you were to keep your old landline number, you will not be eligible for cashback". Is there a problem with keeping your existing phone number with Sky? We've had the same number for 30+ years and do not want to lose it.…

Commercial quality broadband at a residential address
I want to set up a web server at my home (which is now my workplace too). For this, I need to have close to 100% uptime, which is only guaranteed for commercial broadband services. Particularly, as the quality of household internet connections has become an issue since the pandemic. Is it possible to get commercial quality…

Best broadband provider?
We are with virgin at the moment. I have just found out we have an outdated hub and the signal is very bad. I tried to sort it online but it said I needed to speak to virgin. I tried a couple of times but automated message telling me to call back another time as they were busy. Not sure whether to update it or move to…

TalkTalk offering contract renewal discounts?
Have a few TT accounts and wanted to reduce the cost as they usually do a 24 month contract renewal for a lower price. On my 'upgrades' I'm only being offered an increase to Fibre 65 which I don't need. I just want what I already have. Has anyone received anything different?

Broadband - Annual Price Increases
I've been getting my line rental and broadband from Force 9 (PlusNet) for a good few years now. They've been pretty reliable, so I'm reluctant to change. However, I was rather taken aback by an e-mail that I received from them a few days ago. They've announced that from June, the amount that I pay will increase each year…

Replacement Router options/suggestions
Hi all, I have a BT Smart hub and recently it keeps dropping connection randomly and usually re-connects. I had the same issue with the Smarthub 6 and when I replaced it all was well so i suspect its the smarthub as its been on 24/7 for a good number of years now. LLU and speed for different providers?
I have Vodafone broadband. When I signed up I was told I could get 40Mbps minimum, but I get around 10. I've had a look at Sam Knows, and for my exchange it says under LLU operator presence that it's enabled for Sky and Talk Talk, but not for Vodafone and all others. I don't know what that means. Basically, if I switch to…
