Virgin Media recently put up their prices by £4.50 a month whether you were on a contract or not. I had a technical issue recently which caused me to ring them - very drawn out process. At end "anything else I can help with?" Well yes what about then £4.50? Immediately offered a £4.00 a month discount with no hesitation. Not too worried about the 50p so said thank you and rang off. The discount duly appeared. on my account. Always worth asking.
