Sky doesnt have any offers on superfast with phoneline so they say over the phone call today other than £27 a month with the £1 april increase taking it too £28 a month for the next 18 months
I have been paying £21 pm for superfast on a 18 mth contract running out this april when it becomes £22 for a number of days before reverting too full price of £33 a month.
So a week left to change provider or accept skys £72 annual increase at £28 a month which I prefer not too.
I am thinking about leaving for a year then I could always return..... I see Plusnet is £25 a month for a similar 12 mth service
Any offers I should be considering elsewhere ?
I would prefer not to go with talk talk via past negative experiences but am open to looking at anything with customer service.
As here in london your broadband fails from time to time over two or three days and open reach fixes it at street level .
That happened twice last year in six months so customer service needs to be available

Jump on comparison websites and see what else is out there. You may be able to bounce off Sky.

I checked one site U switch (I think it was) and only the sky offer the adviser gave me over the ph came up !
The sky adviser kept stating Skys case no end and how you wont get a like for like superfast service for less .
He was surprised and found it hard to know how I had superfast BB with ph line 18 mths at £21 though as well .
I may try sky retentions if I can get hold of them somehow .
What other sites such as uswitch should I be checking ?0 -
I’ve just had a very similar experience. Was coming to the end of 18 months of Superfast fibre for £18p/m and the best I was offered was £26. Have switched to Plusnet for £24.99p/m and a £75 prepaid MasterCard.I called sky a couple of times and they didn’t go lower than £26, am now waiting for the switch to happen in a couple of weeks. Sky called today to see if I was happy with my account but offered nothing to try and keep me.0

Cazandy yes that sounds very similar except they were after £28 which included the April £1 price increase in my case.
Where did you find that plusnet £25 a month offer with the prepaid £75 mastercard ?
You did well getting £18 a month for superfast did it have the landline ?

The move to plusnet includes a landline but payg calls, I don’t use/have a landline phone so makes no difference. But when you include the prepaid MasterCard the effective monthly cost comes down to £20.83

Could you link the offer or suggest where you found it ?
I have a feeling I may have just missed that offer but if its still available and you actually get the mastercard £75 then I would likely take it .
I dont think Sky is going too play ball at present and I will pay more because in lockdown they believe they hold the premier service .
I will try Sky retentions if I can get through but I need a offer to fall back on .
I rang plusnet today0 -
Have you considered NowTV? I had a similar issue with my 3 different Sky normal broadband accounts. Sky offered no retention deal meaning I would be paying £23 per month for basic broadband up from £20. I am in the process of.moving all 3 to NowTv which will cost me £18 per.month and I get anytime calls on top. They do decent deals on Fibre too. One reason I have gone with NowTv is that they are basically Sky so am.hoping there will be no switch issues and I am even thinking and hoping my Sky router will work - so no messing about with setup. I will find out on Monday when my first switch takes place. Edit :I forgot to say I have £68 Topcashback tracked on all 3 accounts too.. a bonus if it pays out.1

Just to update my post .
I went for...Plusnet fibre 18 month 38-40Mb at £22.99 a month with the cashback £75 card offer over the phone today .
(The £75 card cashback deal on the 66Mb at £24.99 ends tonight at midnight Im not sure what replaces it exactly but think its less cashback like £50 or £65)
This plusnet £22.99 month with £75 cashback card offer seems value and I hope as a simple browsing user its enough speed vs Sky fibre which was more speed ..like 60-80Mps.
Sky was fine except the cost you pay can be higher and if your on a new customer deal then it will only go up after that ...and continue to go up and up.
Before the new regulations they would always sting you at the end of contract for full price unless you were on the ball as well .
So will see how Plusnet 38-40Mb works out so long as I get the £75 card cashback it should be quite cost effective .
