LLU and speed for different providers?

Options
I have Vodafone broadband. When I signed up I was told I could get 40Mbps minimum, but I get around 10. I've had a look at Sam Knows, and for my exchange it says under LLU operator presence that it's enabled for Sky and Talk Talk, but not for Vodafone and all others. I don't know what that means. Basically, if I switch to Sky from Vodafone (therefore from a not enabled to an enabled LLU operator presence), is it likely that my speed will increase?

A speed test on my laptop through wifi. But also on the Vodafone app. I assume that the app does it through the router, because I contacted Vodafone to complain about my speed and they gave me a discount after some tests

Sure, but Vodafone have given me a discount because they accept that they can't supply the expected speed. I'm wondering whether that is due to the fact that they're classed as non-enabled for LLU, and therefore whether a company such as Sky, which is enabled for LLU, is more likely to supply the expected speed

Very unlikely.  More like that your copper line can't deliver the speed that Openreach say it can.

Try putting your phone number/address in here:

    BT Broadband (btwholesale.com)

What am I looking at? The downstream line rate for WBC ADSL 2+? That's only up to 18Mbps

You need to look at the VDSL figure, as I assume that's what Vodafone have quoted for fibre.  Also the VDSL Observed speeds will give you a clue to what is actually possible.

Mmm...why VDSL?  Those figures give a high of 50 and a low of 35, which is what Vodafone will have quoted me. I'm not sure I have fibre though? It's just through the phone line...

You have Fibre To The Cabinet.  From the cabinet you have the regular copper phone wire.

Are there figures in the VDSL observed speeds box? This will be from an actual measurement of the line (possibly from when Vodafone checked it).

The figures of 35-50 are the relevant ones for a "Fibre" connection.  In this context "fibre" is a bit of a misnomer, but that's what Ofcom allow for a VDSL/FTTC connection.
