Best broadband only deal
My granny is wanting to get a tablet (she can't use a computer, but can a tablet). She wants a 3G one and do PAYG. I'm trying to convince her that it would be cheaper to get broadband. She has her phone through Talktalk, so it's only broadband that she needs. Any advice or thoughts on what would be best to go for? She's…

Slow internet/old master socket
Hi, I'm going to help a neighbour with slow internet (1.5Mbps, neighbours get about7Mbps). However, checking the internal wiring showed up this old box (line jack?) as master socket. Their provider is Sky (with BT phone). If we talk nicely to Sky will they get BT to replace this for free?

Can anyone recommend me an internet package for a dongle?
Hi, I'm temporarily renting a house and will need internet, I can't sign up for 18month contracts or even Virgins 9 month student contract as I wont be there that long. Can anyone recommend an internet service I suppose it would be a dongle that I can just plug into my laptop and use as and when I please?

Best for Phone and BB ?
I currently have a BT landline, and O2 just sold my Wifi to Sky. There is cable in the street, and I have Freeview. I don't want to pay extra for extra channels. Cost of both land line and Wifi is a bit over £35 a month. So what options would you persue?

Sky package reduction.
Hi one and all, I currently have a limited sky TV package, with sky unlimited broadband and line rental. The total is approximately £44. For the last 12 months, we have had the Internet package and line rental at half price, but that is now ending. On the basis that we watch little tv, I thought a cheaper way forward,…

BT Yahoo Homepage Changed
Everyone who used BT will have had their homepage changed to BT.com. I used to get financial information and relatively serious news on my homepage. I now get news on celebrities, Eastenders and the like. Anyone else noticed this? I have complained to BT and await their reply. Probably will be platitudes about their…

Cancelling BT service due to price rises
Hello, I have seen there is a BT company rep on the forum - found no way to PM so hopefully you can chip in here. I am currently on Broadband(+Evening+Weekend calls) Option 2, with a 40gb monthly download limit. Having been emailed personally about the impending line rental service price rise, I am aware that I am now able…

Do I *need* superfast broadband in London?
Hello! I'm moving into a new house in London and have never had to organise broadband/wifi before. I was wondering if I could ask some questions here as I know little about Technology and don't want to make the wrong decision since most contracts appear to 18 months. I've heard the speeds in London are fairly good. I was…

Being majorly !!!!!!ed around by PlusNet. What are our rights?
We signed up for PlusNet on 10th September, having taken over the tenancy on 1st July (we're students, hence the gap). They said it would take 10 days to be installed. Once we had paid our money, they said it would take a month to be installed, thus taking us up to 11th October. On the 11th October, we received an email…

BT broadband package - check yours
Hi, just got off the phone with BT following a rant on my behalf! This week I found out i was on the broadband package infinity2 unlimited usage. When i signed up about 18 months ago, there was only one infinity unlimited package which cost me £26/month. Since then, BT have introduced Infinity2 at £26/month and infinity1…

BT - cut us off in error and taking weeks to reinstate broadband
Some weeks ago a sales person rang to offer us an alternative broadband provider to BT. My husband VERY carefully said that we might be interested in knowing the cost but were NOT making an order. The saleswoman kept referring to the 'order' and the 'switch over'. A week or so later a letter from BT arrived saying how…

50% Sky offer
I have tried to sign up to Sky using the 50% offer on the MSE main page and have been told that the unlimited broadband is not available at my address and they have offered an alternative "Broadband Connect" for £17 a month. What does this mean, does anyone know? Surely if broadband is available then isn't unlimited…

Virgin Media Penalities - Moving House
I had to terminate my services today with 15 days notice of my moving house after my buyer has messed me around with completion dates. When I rang Virgin they told me I would have to pay a month's penalty subscription for not giving them a month's notice. When i said I could not give them a month's notice when 2 weeks ago…

Sky tv
Just wanted a rant about how poor the service has been as a new customer to sky. Signed up when we moved, as Virgin could not supply our new house, and signed up to the Sports Pack after seeing that Broadband unlimited was free for 12 months with this pack. Paperwork arrived and showed Broadband Lite with a 2GB usage.…
