Haggling with talk talk

Hi guys
Looking at setting up internet and tv in my new flat (don't want a phone but for what I can tell I have little choice but to have a landline)
Now talk seems the best package?
Unlimited BB, youview box with freeview and land line
£25 p/m for 6 months then £30ish P/m
Not bad but still a little expensive, I added the entertainment boost which gives more channels (basic sky ones) bit thats another £10er p/m
do you think there is much chance of getting them to add that free if I say I won't join up with them otherwise and how would be best way to go about this? phone/email/online etc
all choices seems to be llu bt/TT or Virgin but no idea who is supposed to be best these days

Its always worth haggling with TT as they want your custom.
I have free entertainment boost and 3 months half price through haggling with them about certain things.0 -
Did you do it online or over the phone Krok?0

Over the phone and ask to speak to a manager as only they can grant you any discounts.BigDebtBoy wrote: »Did you do it online or over the phone Krok?
You cant lose anything for haggling.
I find the tv package the best as it gives you unlimited broadband usage and unlimited phone calls and you get the you view box.0 -
moved from AOL to TALKTALK (same company) with no probs..i needed fibre and AOL did not do it.
They sent me to AOL retentions and after 1/2 hr of haggling i got 12 month free line rental, youview, fibre large for price of fibre medium for 18 month and free unlimited calls.
Not sure if it was AOL retentions or TALKTALK new customer to be honest.
All as gone through a treat
76m up speeds
18 down speeds
unlimted calls
and free YOUVIEW box
All for £25.40pm rising to £40.90pm for the last six months.
I was paying BT £23 just for calls.0 -
Virgin doesn't need a phone line.
Unfortunately due to the way fibre and ADSL broadband works in this country, you need a phone line for them - the data can't just float into your house.
I'd go with VM if you don't want a line.0
