Unbelievable Creditor Response
My IVA proposal was effectively rejected today by one creditor – Egg. They want 100% of the debt repaid with the IVA fees on top! I owe in total £79000 (to many creditors). Egg want want £1240 paid over 42 months with a £35000 lump sum at the end (I retire and get my pension) This equates to £87000. Is that legal? I am…

Help with letter template
We're getting a lot of hassle from MBNA (I understand they just want there money). My partner has had 8 - 10 conversations with them over the last month, where he normally ends by putting the phone down as the conversations go round and round in circles. Also getting 2 - 3 letters a week, as he doesn't answer the phone to…

Hi, Just a quick question - I got my pack through from the OR today and all the forms/envelope etc. My interview is on 4th April- its says telephone and the guy I spoke to Tuesday said it would be a telephone interview. However, in the pack there is a map showing me where OR office is and a bit of paper telling where to go…

OR call received today
Hello, I posted a message here a few days ago as I was getting really worried about imminent OR phone call today, and everyone here just told me to be open and honest. I had spent hours preparing for this call, and had done a 5 year chart to have in front of me showing where I had lived, who I was working for, the debts I…

Wow, ORs are actually human...
Had my OR interview today! My call was at 11am, and I have to say I was absolutely terrified, far more worried than when I was waiting for my bankruptcy date! However the OR was really nice, non-judgemental and kept reassuring me not to feel like I was being interrogated by the KGB, that it was all part of the process! He…

Proof of Income?
Hi all, Just had a question on what documents the OR will ask for. I run my own Kleeneze Business(delivering catalogues) from home so its hard for me to show a proof of income as I just earn a commision on the orders I get, this can vary alot! All I have is my order forms from customers, will the OR need to see them? also…

Being freelance and the OR interview
My date for bankruptcy is 28 April, not soon enough for me...However I am concerned about how the OR or IP (whoever it is) who interviews me after my court hearing will react to the fact that I want to go freelance again. At present I am not working and have just applied for Jobseekers allowance. I am also applying for…

Been very stupid - will I go to jail?
I'm a young mum, recently been left by her husband (October 07) and am horribly frighteningly in debt. I am depressed and on medication. Over the past few months, I have fallen behind in my repayments to credits cards and also my mortgage (after my husband left and refused to pay). I've been hiding from everyone. Not…

Just Made My Court Appointment - A Few Questions
I've finally made my appointment to petition for bankruptcy (April 29th) and already feel like part of the weight has lifted off my shoulders, but still have a few questions. 1) I know most people go and open their new bank accounts after the court appearance, but do I have to wait or could I do it now? I was thinking…

My wife who must go BR with me has long term medical issues including Bi-Polar disorder, agoraphobia and others! Are they Ogres? Or…

IPA query
I earn a reasonable amount and expect to have to pay an IPA/IPO for three years. However, I could if I wished retire in less than three years and at that time I will receive a pension. Would the OR allow me to pay a 'full and final' payment after 2 1/2 years do you think? Additionally, we really need to keep our current…
