Hello everyone - three months on and here she is
Hiya everyone How are you all? Sorry I haven't posted in a while but there's not really been anything to post. I am now into the third month of my bankruptcy. I am FINE. I am not scared to answer my phone anymore. I buy "two for ones" and I look after my money and manage quite nicely on my wages. What a relief. I have a…

Hi I am new and have lots of questions!
hello, this is my first time on here although have read lots of posts yesterday . Basically my husband and I are in debt, we have been in a downward spiral for ten years since having our first child, using credit cards then getting loans to pay them off just to live on. We haven't ever been frivolous with money but just…

Bankrupcy covering council tax arrears?
A male friend of mine recently declared himself bankrupt, however since doing so he has now been told that his council tax arrears are not covered by the bankrupcy. He is now back to bailiffs knocking on his door and depression is well and truly setting in. Is this right?. If it helps he is in the Birmingham area. He was…

Bankrupt and moving house
Hi all, This is my first post so bear with me. I am an undisclosed bankruptee living in Scotland. I signed the papers 6 months ago, and under Scottish Law still have 2 1/2 years before I'm discharged. I currently don't pay any towards it as I'm on maternity leave, with a 4 month old. Im a single mum, so my income right now…

How long does it take...
If my IVA proposal is rejected 20th March, I have an appointment booked at the County Court for 9th April. Is the three week period in between the two dates a dangerous one? i.e. can I expect bailiffs etc? or does it take longer than that for the creditors to take such action? What should I expect if anything?

Debit Card question
When we realised we were having problems, we were with the RBS and owed them some money – a loan and an overdraft. We opened a new bank account with Barclay's, a debit card account; we told them we were proposing an IVA. If I now go BR because the IVA proposal looks set to be rejected, Barclay's told me that I will have to…

IVA set to fail at the first hurdle
My wife and I have proposed a joint IVA and the creditors meeting is tomorrow – 20th March. It was adjourned from 14th because Egg wanted more time to consider our proposal. I have heard today that the proposal is likely to be rejected because Egg want us to cancel our Sky subscription (£19 per month) and they think that…

We are seriously considering bankrupcy but the only thing stopping us is our house. we have a mortgage of £123000 left and it's worth about £135000 will they make us sell it ? We have been offering small payments to everyone we owe, altogether we owe £53000 unsecured debt, just can't see how we will ever pay it back this…
