Admittedly, it's the only Court that I've ever been to so no basis for comparison - but I found it totally fine.
Blonde: Unemployed: Bankrupt.
What do I know?

Hi Izabel,
We have visited Sheffield County Court on a number of occasions with bankruptcy clients and can confirm that the staff there have always been extremely friendly, reassuring and professional.
It is a large combined complex incorperating both Crown and County Courts with the bankruptcy section to the right on the ground floor. To book a hearing you should ring the court on 0114 2812400 and ask for the bankruptcy section.
You enter the building via a rather large revolving door where the security staff will conduct a search of your clothing and belongings. The reception desk is to the immediate right, you will need to 'check in' and they will point you to the bankruptcy desk in the next room.
All the best.Visit our website at www.ned-cab.org.uk or find your local CAB.

Both myself and my OH will be going BR.
I've got 2 young children and due to living 120 miles away from family and friends with either have to take them with us or book different days.
Which do you think would be best?0 -
I think most would say the court is not the place to take children I am afraid. There can be a lot of waiting around and going from place to place.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0

Hi,
Just a Little more info on Sheffield Court, we spoke to them a week or so ago and understand that children are allowed, however as Tigerfeet 2006 has already stated it is very likely that there will be some waiting time with little for chidren to do.
With regards to double bankruptcies, eg man & wife the petitions usually compliment each other and normally less overall time would be spent at court if they are presented together on the same day.
We have sometimes found it a little difficult to park in the court car park and have found ourselves rushing round to attend on time as a result. We would inform those who are not familiar with Sheffield that there is a handy park and ride tram system with the stops near to the court being Cathederal & Castle Square, then its a little walk down the hill to the court.
Hope this helps.Visit our website at www.ned-cab.org.uk or find your local CAB.
