I am sure i'll get a lot of Apple, Bitcoin etc answers but would you invest in something other than property etc? I see so may posts from very intelligent people (dragons etc) saying that…

Maturing first direct regular saver disappeared from FD account list
Hi As per the title, my hubby's FD regular saver matures tomorrow [30th] but it has disappeared already from list of accounts. Is this normal? I didn't think it would disappear as such, just though it would change tomorrow from a regular saver to a standard saver. Has anyone else that has one maturing tomorrow checked…

Plum ISA at 5.17%
The best ISA on the MME website page at the moment is Plum at 5.17%. However I'm wondering if this is really a good idea - looking into the description on the web site, the actual ongoing rate you get paid is 4.29%. Then there is a bonus of 0.88% that you get paid after one year. However, it says that the interest rates…

The RCI bank 2 year fixed savings account at 5.05% is not in the MSE top accounts list. Does anyone know if there is a reason for this. Also I note that there a quite a few threads from a few years ago where people were dissatisfied with the account opening procedures and communication. Is there anyone who has opened an…

Vanguard portal change, now doesn't give units or price per unit?
Just logged on this morning and the portal now no longer shows the number of units you hold or the value per unit, it just shows an overall value which is really not helpful if you hold multiple funds. Does anyone know where to find this info, without having to generate a portfolio valuation each time I want to update my…

Selling Vanguard Funds on IWeb?
Would anyone know how selling Vanguard funds on IWeb works around when the sale is priced and when the funds are typically available to re-invest please? How do I find out which banks are grouped together?
With regards to an easy access savings account. I know the FSCS will protect £170,000 for joint accounts. If you had the same amount (170k ish) in 3 accounts how do you make sure the banks aren't linked so you would in theory get overall protection of the large sum rather than if some institutions are linked so the…

Have I made a mistake with Plum
I opened a Plum account to take advantage of their ISA interest rate and have maxed it out for the year and I'm happy with that. However I was seduced by the interest rate of the Plum Interest account and moved some other money over to it. I'm now thinking that was a mistake as it's not a simple easy access saving account…

Platform Charges - ETFs vs OEICs
Hi, Just something I keep wondering. Across most platforms, ETF charges are higher for buying and selling, but many cap their custody charges for ETFs but not for OEICs. I know its not universal, but I don't think any are the other way round with lower custody charges for OEICs and lower dealing charges for ETFs. Just…
