This is the new Challenge thread for savers in 2024.

The challenge starts on 1 January 2024 and finishes on 31 December 2024.

Please report monthly and I will record totals on a spreadsheet. Link  below.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1-frtVz3nhAXAKlcjM5zqNyiLfSopVsc_tPK9Y_r7jPM/edit?usp=sharing

You can save £12k or any other amount you decide to set as a target.

Please post on this  thread if you want to join in next year with your target amount and each month from January  put up your user name, challenger number and amount saved.  I will post a list of names and numbers at the beginning of 2024.

Feel free to make other comments like how you are saving and if you are saving for anything in particular.

Morning, would love to join in again.  Retiring in the Spring so am going to guestimate and go for £5,000 - fantastic if I manage that and even better if it's over!

Thanks so much for running this challenge @enthusiasticsaver and @Suffolk_lass

That is up to you but I can only keep track of one savings pot per person. You can split into various pots and keep track yourself if you want.

Personally I only do rainy day/long term savings as the pots tend to get spent during the year.
