Plus we’re both tall so need the legroom if we’re just sitting. We’re Manchester so would like a few hours travelling but not 7+ thanks

Sykes Cottages review dispute
2 week Sykes Cottages holiday in Cornwall last October had a few "issues" on arrival. At the end of our trip responded to Sykes automated emails requesting to leave a review on their website. Uploaded then forgot about it. A few weeks ago somewhat surprisingly received a new email from Sykes asking for my permission for…

Please recommend Carnivals, festivals, weekenders, fetes etc for 2026
Hi all (and a happy new year) My wife and I bought a Campervan a couple of years ago and have loved travelling the UK staying in some stunning places we had never heard of previously. However, typically, we find out about an event/carnival/festival too late to book tickets or find anywhere to stay. For example, in the last…

London Theatres and Hotel
I'm thinking about a possible solo trip to London specifically to take in a few shows. Would be January 7th for minimum 3 nights, possibly 5. In my age group, solo and not knowing my way around London, main criteria I think is accommodation close to theatreland (which I know will undoubtably be more expensive) but I really…

England holiday June 2022
I booked a holiday apartment in Penzance (would have been in June 2021) for one week via Booking.com, I had to cancel due to train strikes because I was due to travel on the Penzance sleeper train. The proprietor initially agreed to a new booking in June 2023 for one week, however because she had to move back in she was…

Recommendations please- want to book a cottage/lodge for next Christmas.
Has anyone booked and gone away for Christmas in this country and if so would you recommend it? After a particularly lousy Christmas this year we have decided to get away next year. I would like to book a lodge somewhere perhaps the Lake district or Scotland. It would be 2 of us plus the dog. Somewhere we could drive into…

Lake cruise at this time of year?
Mr. M and I are joining 19 other members of my family in a hotel in Grasmere this weekend. Most of the others are fit, healthy, and keen walkers, eager to tackle a fell or two. We are not! We’re hoping the cruises on Windermere are still running at this time of year - big coats, hats, scarves and gloves all packed! I have…

Warner Hotels login
Anyone having issues logging into their account with Warner Hotels? Trying to make a booking but it won't let me logon. Thought it might have been my password being wrong, so tried to change it. However it says my email address isn't registered, even though it's the one I've been using for 15 years or so. Tried calling but…

Butlins weekend booked today. All shows and activities fully booked.
Just wondered if anyone knows my consumer rights regarding a refund. I’ve just booked a festive weekend at butlins in a fortnights time. I did ring up earlier today to ask if it was possible that all the pantomimes, shows and events would be fully booked and was told that it wasn’t peak season so probably not. The staff…

Booking.com charging City Tax that is not due
For a recent stay near Fakenham in Norfolk, England, Booking.com have taken £7.92 in "City Tax". There is no City Tax in this area. They messaged me to say it was usually taken by the accommodation on arrival. It was not, it was taken by Booking.com as part of my payment. The B&B manager confirmed there was no City Tax due…

Holiday Home in January 2026
Hello all I may have missed anything relevant in the broad search criteria I used, so apologies in advance if this is the case. I am ideally looking for a 2 week stay in January (approx starting 12 January to 26 January although dates might change slightly). However, everywhere I have looked seems to be a fair few £'s, so…
