This week's MoneySaver who wants advice asks... My husband and I both work full-time and contribute equally to our household expenses, including food shopping. Tesco Clubcard spend or swap?
I recently exchanged £19 worth of Tesco Clubcard vouchers for £37 in Best Western hotel partner vouchers. I used them to book a one-night stay in Maidenhead, getting a king room with breakfast for £37 in vouchers plus £75 cash. The hotel was lovely and the staff were really friendly. However, while checking in, there was a…

Iphone app for loyalty cards
Hi everyone, I've been using the Stocard app on my iPhone to store loyalty cards such as Clubcard and Nectar. I like it because it can be used offline when I have no Internet / signal and can also be used on my Apple Watch, even when it is not connected to the Internet or my phone. I had a notification the other day saying…

Tesco - every penny helps . . . . themselves!
When I buy loose veg etc at Tesco I weigh my selections and print out the labels. THEN I put the produce into one of the 30p bags I purchased to do my bit for recycling. But of late I have noticed when I get to the checkout the barcode is ignored, the produce is weighed & the price is a penny higher than on the label. In…

Aldi v Tesco
So right now I have a tesco delivery with a delivery saver costing £6.99 per month and the website says I have saved around £80 in the last six months in costs of delivery as on a large shop I would usually need to get a taxi which would be around £6 per week (£24 per month instead of the £6.99). I have considered…

Ocado Price Lock
I noticed that Ocado currently ( 4 June 2025) lists Dolce Gusto Latte Macchiato pods at £6.50 with a "Price Lock" icon. But when I checked a future order for 19th June, the same product still shows the "Price Lock" label, even though the price has increased to £7.00. This seems misleading — surely a “locked” price…

The Great 'shrinking food and other items' Hunt
The Great 'shrinking food' Hunt Revisited We featured this hunt back in 2010 (see original thread), but it seems manufacturers are up to their old tricks again by dropping products’ sizes while keeping prices the same (one forumite's spotted loaves of bread dropping from 800g to 750g). Clubcard Challenges
Anyone else doing these? Currently I qualify for 600 points or £6 in vouchers. If I spend £44 on certain items in the next two weeks, this increases to 2950 points or £29.50 in vouchers. As I have two easyJet holidays to pay for this means I get £59 off. I'm sure I could get even more. I haven't actually bought anything I…

What to do when nectar price isn't applied?
I went to Sainsburys on Friday and saw a product that usually costs £7.75, but with a nectar price of £7. It's a bit of a favourite in our house, so I bought 10 of them, which should have given a discount of £7.50, but when I checked the receipt, I had been charged full price on all of them. Previously when I've had an…

Tesco delivering out of date food advice needed
I wonder if any one can help me. I had a food order delivered on 10th February from Tesco's. Not a best before it was a use…
