Her Pip award was for 4 years from Jan 18, we did get a car as soon as we were able but obviously had to wait for paperwork etc. I know her renewal will start around Jan 20 (normally 12 month in advance) for…

Stairlifts - buy or rent?
I have arthritis in my knee and am having real difficulty with the stairs in my house. I hope to get a knee replacement within the next year or so, after which I’ll hopefully be able to manage the stairs again. In the meantime a stairlift would make my life a lot easier. What are your experiences of renting a (straight)…

DWP discrimination against elderly and Disabled
Helping a 80 year old man who was attacked by two Rottweilers 18 months ago and lost an arm and leg as a result. He can’t travel safely in a car so needs a mobility car with wheelchair access. Mother in law - Is she entitled to disability help?
Hi, I'm getting increasingly concerned for my wife's mum. She has been in poor health and overweight for a number of years but has always kept on working. Over the last 2 years her health has deteriorated rapidly and she has thankfully now took the decision to retire. She has a heart condition that means she cannot walk…

Moving house - getting help to clear house
Not massively disabled (but do have a blue badge) but do have back issues.... It makes it difficult now to move stuff around. Move stuff into storage. An hour or so loading the car etc means 3-4 days of pain. Just wondered how poor people even worse off than me manage with things like this. Is there someone you can pay…

International blue badge?
More of a rant than anything else. I have a visitor who is disabled. In her home country (US) she has a blue badge but that doesn’t work here. Parking somewhere convenient or simply stopping to help her out of the car is a nightmare and severely restricts what we can do.
