9 points on licence
I have a Motability car and when I applied I already had six points on my licence which the insurers are aware. I have received another letter that I have been caught again which will accumulate to 9 points. I am worried that my insurance will not continue. I will use a speed limiter from now on and will be more cautious when driving. Does anyone have 9 points on their licence and still allowed to drive their Motability car?

Your insurance should continue. It will usually only stop when you have twelve points, so you really need to avoid getting any more points. However, dealers are not allowed by the scheme to allow you to test drive cars with more than six points, so if you need to test drive a new car in the very near future, you want to arrange to do so before the prosecution is confirmed.

You should report to your insurance company immediately, don't wait for renewal.

Some insurers say you do not need to report penalty points before renewal. The OP needs to check the policy small print.
Plus they need to slow down !

You must tell them immediately you get the points. They won't insure anyone with a ban of 30 days or more in the last 5 years, so you should be ok for now.

Just wondering when the first points expire - not that it's a reason to be less aware of your driving habits!
(They do still expire, don't they?)

If they are on motability, there is no annual renewal.
