I am being extra extra cautious now and always watching my speed. I have alerts set up and it automatically alerts even if I am over 1mph. I don't care if the car behind me is tailgating which happens often

Of course another thing to be aware of with a SatNav is that it may show the speed limit, but for various reasons that may not correspond with current reality - either something's changed recently, OR there are roadworks etc which have meant a temporary speed restriction. We have major and very long term roadworks near us and I'm told the cameras have been reset to 20 mph (the current limit) from the previous 40 mph.

There have been cases of people convicted of speeding when driving within the appropriate limit. A friend of my husband was driving his white van on a motorway, in Wales and knew he was not speeding, as he checked his speedometer, just before he was flashed. He was found guilty, as he had no proof, but a couple of years ago there was a tv documentary about where the colour and design of a vehicle causes the beam to malfunction, making the camera register a case of speeding. It was an ex-police officer who described the effect, so police knew about it some years ago. So, OP, you had better stay away from Wales where there are hidden cameras, too.😋
