Probate submitted end of June, straightforward, just bank accounts, how long can it reasonably take? Apologies again for repetition, just wanted to hear some real experiences (recently) thanks

How long is probate taking for a simple estate at the moment?
My solicitor is just about to actually apply for probate after receiving my Mother's funeral cost details. All other documents sorted and a fairly simple estate of one property (owned outright) and one bank account. No other debts. I am the sole executor and beneficiary. Thanks in advance.

Fixed Rate Bonds - confused by HMRC advice
Hello, after a conversation with HMRC, I am really confused about filing a tax return for interest earned on fixed rate bonds. I thought that I only needed to file information about interest accrued on fixed rate bonds in the year that the account matures and the interest becomes available. However, having received a late…

MAS no . 5 SVR
Hello all . I am looking to make a claim to MAS no. 5 for unfair mortgage interest rates. I have received a summary of the rates we have been paying from MAS but to be honest, I cannot make sense of what the figures mean and if we can make a claim at all as our mortgage was interest only? . I hope I made sense and I am…

Now Sky sports
I'm looking to watch sky sports but only for a month to watch the remainder of the football season. I have a Now Stick and I'm looking at offers on my account and ones I'm emailed. I'm just a bit confused as they seem to indicate you can cancel any time but then give the impression you are signing up for 6 months minimum.…

Balance transfers from Chase
I recently tried to do a balance transfer from Chase to Barclaycard. I had to call Barclaycard as every attempt to do it online failed. I was told that Barclaycard don't accept balance transfers from Chase. Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience with Chase or know a credit card provider that does accept…

Reclaiming mortgage early repayment fees
hello, I hope someone can help me, and I hope that this is in the right forum. Recently, whilst moving home I wanted to port my mortgage over to my new house. I was aware that my solicitor had to be on my banks panel, so emailed a solicitor asking if they were on the panel. They replied saying they were, and so I…

S&S ISA newbie
Hi. I want to put £30k in a S&S ISA. It is currently in 2 Santander FRISAs totalling £40k which mature on 1 May. Ideally, I'd like to use Santander's managed S&S ISAs. I'm not confident re DIY investing. MSE says it's cheaper to use a platform such as CSD than a bank. Can anyone give me an approximate idea of annual fees…

PCM UK parking ticket - how to proceed?
I received a postal notification of parking charge to keeper from PCM UK about a parking intervention. I must admit that I parked there knowing that I do not have the permit. I parked there and went to meet a friend who lives a few streets down from there and no other parking was available nearby. The area is a residential…

Is a lifetime trust worth doing?
Is a lifetime trust worth doing to protect house from care fees to ensure children get the inheritence? Very simple, Mum owns the house, fully paid off, worth less than £300,000, only one child and is wanting to do this to protect the inheritance for myself. I know she has to survive for 7 years after doing it or the…

Potential issue with courier
Hi, We booked a courier via a well known courier website, paid the deposit. Courier messaged saying dropoff scheduled for a specifc day. We were not going to be in and did not want to leave cash, so we said they can leave items in a specific place as its secure and covered by CCTV, and would they take bank transfer. They…

Certificate of structural adequacy
The surveyor of a house we are buying has suggested we hire a structural engineer to provide a Certificate of structural adequacy. The house has been underpinned in the past, but the surveyor did not comment on any signs of current subsidence. Is this normal to get a certificate?

Lebara SIM only does not work
There are other similar threads on this site on problems with Lebara, but as I still see "MSE Blagged" for the Lebara SIM only deal on https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/cheap-mobile-finder/sim-only/ I'm creating a new thread hoping Money Saving Expert website admins will sort that out. It seems Lebara does not offer a 5G…

Nursing home and finance

ii website?
I just tried to login to the ii website. It says: "Due to planned maintenance work, this service is currently unavailable." but it doesn't say how long it will be offline and they didn't send me any warning in advance. How often does this happen? And is it acceptable?
