Paid & displayed but PCN doesn't refer to it
We've received a PCN through the post from a BPA member. We paid and displayed a ticket and didn't overstay (full day ticket). There was also an app option to pay but we paid cash at the machine The PCN includes a photo of the car entering and leaving and times but doesn't refer to any issue with the ticket paid for.
We've used the template appeal letter to draft so far but should we also state that we paid in cash for a ticket? Thank you for any advice

Post redacted pictures of both sides of the NTK PCN letter below, after hiding your name and address, the VRM details, the pcn reference number too, but leaving the dates and times and location visible
Only post the pictures when carefully redacted, no personal or private information should be visible
Was the verbatim and correct VRM used at the payment machine ? Because it sounds like a wrong entry or typo, or a machine fault occurred

I think this is what you requested. Thank you in advance for any advice.

Sounds like an error inputting the VRN, the ticket issued should have the VRN on it to verify, if a keying error they should have offered a £20 admin charge not the full PCN fee.

So should we state in our appeal that we paid in cash and displayed the ticket?

Have you still got that contractual ticket ( that should always be kept for a few months as proof of payment ? )
if yes, check the actual VRM entry details are fully present and correct on that timed ticket, because the claimant is clearly stating that no payment was made ! ( NO VALID PAYMENT , not NO PAYMENT. )
That is usually due to either a user error or a machine fault

We've searched but don't still have the ticket. One member of the household is far too efficient and tidy obsessed!

That's a shame. You shouldn't bin these.
Appeal saying you paid by cash, how much you paid and approximately when, and say if they are alleging there was a 'keying error' their rejection letter must show the material information of the day's cash payments log from that site, including the supposedly partial VRM that matches the payment time and amount.
This is a new one on me:
Good Value Parking Ltd.
I looked them up. Wonder if their Director Martin J Gallagher is related to John Gallagher, the POPLA lead adjudicator…?!

That's an interesting question you raised. There is a John Gallagher as a previous director of a company that MJ is now a director of showing on Companies House. Would that be a conflict of interest?

If it's the same guy, yes.
