twotimes said:When I purchase postage on the RM website I always untick the box that says "Show this address on the label" (the address being the sender's address). Does anyone know, when using ebay Simple Delivery whether you also have this option? I do not want my address visible on parcels I send out. I don't have a printer so will be using the QR option via a Post Office.
Is anyone able to assist with this please? Has anyone used Simple delivery yet, and know what information is displayed and what options sellers have in terms of which info displays?

However, I never send anything without a return address, what happens if item is refused or un delivered for any reason? It probably doesn’t matter with SD as long as it shows as sent it’s eBay’s problem, but I have no issue with my return address being on parcels anyway.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Presumably the return address doesn't have to relate to the address where it entered the system, if I lived in Truro but decided to post a parcel while on a weekend away in Inverness I could drop it in at the local post office.0 -
Seen elsewhere anything under £10 and less than 100g can be opted out of SD0

That's part of the reason I am asking as I want to be sure that my details are not going to be printed on the labels.0 -
housemartin113 said:Hi, I've been comparing the Ebay Simple Delivery prices for Royal Mail with RM's standard and they are much, much more. Is it legal for Ebay to charge so much extra, bearing in mind that from 15 April 2025 are making it compulsory for private sellers so we will not have a choice. Can we report this to someone in authority to investigate?Price differences as follows
Up to 2KG
Simple Delivery: Buyer Pays = £4.27
Simple Delivery: Seller Pays = £4.46
Direct from Royal Mail = £3.39
The next level according to Ebay is 'up to 15kg' and my packages average 8kg which is cheaper so instead of paying £6.65 I'll have to pay £12.35. A nice profit for Ebay.
I did wonder when Ebay stopped charging commission for private sellers how they'd get their income and now we know. I won't be selling anything again once my stuff already listed has sold. I just hope that they don't change my existing listings to incorporate their extra charges. They're already charging the buyer 'Buyer Protection Fee' so my prices have had to be adjusted down to accommodate that. It's all become such a scam now.
This is my concern completely. Online shoppers are now exceedingly savvy and especially with regards to postage cost and being clearly overcharged: Up to 2KG : Direct from Royal Mail = £3.39 NOW eBay STUPID Simple** Delivery: Buyer Pays = £4.27 - Why????** Obviously, aptly named after the person who came up with it copied the idea from Vinted and slapped a nice eBay profit on top for the share holders who have been disappointed for several Q on profitsand is it really any wonder!
