When I purchase postage on the RM website I always untick the box that says "Show this address on the label" (the address being the sender's address). Does anyone know, when using ebay Simple Delivery whether you also have this option? I do not want my address visible on parcels I send out. I don't have a printer so will be using the QR option via a Post Office.

The SD set-up is as clear as mud. eBay's wording:
    • You'll be protected if the item is lost or damaged from the point the item is scanned into the carrier's delivery network and until it's marked as delivered
So pretty much all of my 20-odd listings are small glass figurines, ceramics and porcelain. All of these are specifically excluded from compensation by Evri. My hope is eBay will automatically exclude the Evri choice presented to the Buyer on this basis and steer them to RM. In which case it makes sense NOT to exclude Evri in my Settings, to then access the more favourable £2.94 under 1kg Parcel price-point.
Sounds great in practice. Will it happen? Watch this space. It would be a complete farce if I'm forced to send an item that's excluded from compensation via Evri, it subsequently gets damaged, yet I'm still covered against any damage claim. For comparison, I average about 1 claim pa to RM for damaged in transit

@Soolin do you think you are getting preferential listing treatment from ebay? I often wonder about the order things come up. I have been selling quite a lot this week. My items are quite cheap. I tend to get hardly any views and then a sale. Sold a book from 1926 this morning.

My understanding is that if you have listed the item correctly ebay are taking the risk, the same as if the package is oversize.
I think ebay is opening itself up to some problems.

Perhaps someone else might want to give it a try. End a batch of listings, then use sell similar, NOT relist to re list everyone (watch for any automatic SD shown and check appropriate weight option is selected. Then see if it generates sales.

I suspect you are being humorous but I never can tell.

I find vintage books a very hard sell, you just need that one buyer who is the only one in the country who wants it. ,

I have just ended and sell similar on three items.  Simple Delivery wasn’t an option, only domestic delivery.  My settings for postage were as they were previously.

That is my understanding, and I posted some rather tacky resin things yesterday where the buyer had opted for Evri -but I know Evri don't cover resin. I obviously still boxed it all properly just as I would if I was taking responsibility, but it went and it shows as with Evri and it's up to ebay now.

I do wonder if it will be a bit like Vinted, they do take some responsibility for damaged items, but they need to deem the packaging suitable- and they insist on a box, so if I had sold this on Vinted (and it was listed there as well) I would have photographed the box anyway and if buyer had opened a claim sent that image to Vinted, then Vinted would refund the buyer. If I hadn't boxed it then I would have paid the refund. (and believe me on Vinted I am never surprised to see someone say they got a round fish bowl wrapped in a single sheet of bubble wrap in a carrier bag!)

I suspect though that ebay may turn options off if they get a lot of claims, it's like GSP now where they play around with it. I have a buyer in Italy, sometimes ebay let them buy my things, and other times ebay block Italy entirely- probably after they get a batch of non receipt claims,

Were they large letter and under £10? I'm trying to find a pattern here.
