Gateway House Piccadilly, Manchester

Have seen other posts relating to this online so thought I'd post this to see if anyone can shine some light on it. I was visiting Manchester briefly earlier this month and my friend's son had to be dropped off at Piccadilly Train Station. Not knowing the area, the postcode was inputed into Google and the directions followed accordingly. This led to an area, apparently the rear of a building called Gateway House. Due to the other road being blocked off by bollards, we entered said area without seeing if there was any signage and got so far before realising that we couldn't get any further, and decided to reverse into a hatched area before my friend's son to exit in order for him to catch his train. We were barely stopped for a minute in said area and left promptly. I have since been sent an NTK for a parking charge of £100 (£60 if paid within 2 weeks). There seems to be a divided opinion on paying/ignoring such demands so wondered if anyone had any thoughts. Given the response I've seen re. appeals, I haven't bothered re. same.

There seems to be a divided opinion on paying/ignoring such demands so wondered if anyone had any thoughts. Can you show us that divided opinion please? What is it you are looking for that is not included in the dozens of threads all travelling down the same route that you are in regard to UKCPS and Gateway House, Piccadilly? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

The keeper (not saying who was driving) should respond, which is better then ignoring it. Looks far more reasonable later to a fair Judge, if useless, greedy and desperate ex-clampers UKCPS ever try a small claim re this entrapment zone.
But NEVER try non-standard IAS, where victims are duped into paying £15 for a 96% chance of losing.
The landowner should be ashamed for allowing this utter scam to operate on their land.
Read the thread from this week, where the local MP stepped in and got it cancelled. Sorry no link, no idea which one it was but there are only a handful of threads this past week about this place, so the thread title will be easy to find in the forum.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Umkomaas, maybe I worded it incorrectly but there are those who are undecided on which course of action to take. My point is I was in an area unknown to me and can't really say that i noticed any obvious signage. I was only looking to drop someone off and stopped briefly. Given the time concerned and the purpose of said stop I wouldn't class it as parking per se. Not looking to enter into any argument here just considering how to proceed.0

The victims are undecided on what to do , BUT not the regular posters replying to them
Complain to the landowner , plan A
Appeal as keeper , plan B
Then ignore the debt collector letters , but do complain to your local MP
Read the very long thread by miss bizzita too , with dozens of victims told to do the same
There are no divided opinions from the knowledgeable people here , just from the newbie victims
Parking , no stopping , Grace periods , etc , leave that legal definition dilemma to a judge , in court
Ps , no blabbing about who was driving3 -

We have seen dozens of these , so just assume that our advice is correct , as you will see because it's been the same to every victim3 -
No divided opinion here, do not pay.
IMO they woulde be foolish to take this to court, read this,

read the newbies, and complain to your MP.

I have emailed my local MP in the hope they can forward it on to the MP in Manchester as well as Neil O'Brien. As far as appealing to UKCPS is concerned, I take it the blue template in the Newbies Thread will suffice and that i shouldn't alter it in any way. I need to get it e-mailed today.2
