UKCPS NTK letter re no stopping charge gateway house picadilly

Hi, whilst using my car, my wife stopped to let her brother out. Having read the Newbies forum and the ukcps posts I went to appeal using the blue template. However, then I saw this photo...

Do we really have a leg to stand on with all this visible signage my wife seems to have ignored? 🙈

In your opinion do I need to pay it or carry on with the appeal?

Help appreciated.

Thanks

I can't read any of those signs. Can you? Could The Driver have read them?

You are one of hundreds of people caught in this entrapment zone. Have a look for the group thread about this place. Nobody pays.
As yet, nobody has been taken to court, but that doesn't mean it won't happen.

Do not reveal the driver's identity. Not even on here. Only ever refer to The Driver and The Keeper, who are two different people in law. The Keeper has protections that The Driver does not.
You should not be telling the world who did what or what happened either. PPCs monitor this forum.

Just send the appeal template in blue text, unaltered, from The Keeper, then read up on what to do next if/when it is rejected.

The usual sc#m at that location is on the road outside , not in a car park ( your picture shows a car park , not the sc*m location where your narrative explains the contravention )

The no stopping sc*m is at ground level , not high up

As for chances , who knows , signage and landowner authority are factors , as is POFA , CRA and the IPC CoP too , especially POFA in your case as keeper

Just be aware that parking companies regularly turn down any appeal , plus the IAS is a kangaroo court too

Ukcps rarely issue court claims , especially because Manchester court is a graveyard for parking companies , the judges are very clued up

That is NOT a no stopping zone.  Where are the double red lines?  The entrance is also unclear, as you come off the road.

You really need to read the UKCPS Picadilly group thread and get out of the mindset that this is to be paid.

Appeal won't work of course but it's not meant to.   The reasons for appealing anyway (registered keeper, NOT the driver) are fully explained in the UKCPS no stopping group treas and in the NEWBIES thread where the template 'appeal' is.

Welcome to the skewed world of rogue ex-clampers and how they now operate.  Your case is no different.

It depends what it says, read this, read the newbies, and complain to your MP.

It's your choice , not ours , we would say grow a set and fight at the appropriate time , meanwhile ignoring the bog roll intimidating letters and threats , especially a demand from drp ltd as shown in your picture , nobody pays drp

We recently had one cancelled by ukcps after an MP was involved , in or near that location !

But it's not our decision to make , we would say ignore , fight , if you lost in court you would only pay the same or slightly more  ( to be clear , I would fight , I would not pay that debt collector letter , or ukcps either )

Where the keeper ( defendant ) stands is very simple , they defend their position in court ( no case to answer , followed by reasons why ) and a judge acts as referee and awards one side a winning goal

If the judge decided that ukcps had a valid claim , a sum of money would be calculated , typically £200 or less , which the defendant pays within the Grace period of 30 days , in full , to avoid any CCJ being registered

Red lines indicate no stopping , there are no red lines , no grace period was given , etc

You should be annoyed , not unsettled !

Seriously, were you not expecting that?  What did you think was going to happen?

Unsettled?  But it's only a DRP letter!  Did you miss out reading post #4 of the NEWBIES thread about tedious old DR Plus?

No-one here is ever unsettled by that rubbish with the fake photo (Catfish stylee).  Surely you've read all the other recent DR Plus threads laughing at that exact same silly letter?
