If I'm going to use the Chase debit card abroad, do I need to warn them first?
i.e. to stop it getting blocked.

I seem to remember I did when I was with Santander, they had an option in their 'services' menu to do it, can't see anything in the Chase App. That was way back in 'pre-lockdown' days though.

Don't believe so - would expect that to be noted here: https://www.chase.co.uk/gb/en/support/travel-with-chase/

No need to warn them… used within 7 days in Iceland, and US without a glitch and without telling anyone.

Does the £500 have to stay in your account for so long or can you withdraw it straight away, sorry if this question has already been answered.
you can withdraw it again but you will need money in the account if you want to earn cashback

What's the max amount you need in your account for max CB?

In the app, go to see card/manage card/card controls and there is an option to allow or block payments outside UK. For security I have mine set to off, and switch to on as required for travel.

I tried to open a chase account today and was rejected. All my info was correct, I have no outstanding debt, no missed payments, employed full time, a mortgage, no problem getting credit and all the credit score places have me rated good or better.

Anyone else had the same issue? I’m assuming it’s an ID verification problem as I look quite well put together on my passport but I couldn’t seem to take a verification photo on the app that didn’t make me look twenty years older and like I’d been through some stuff.

Another survey today, asking about desirable cashback incentives on top of the regular 1%, without naming Nationwide they specifically referred to the grocery stores 5% as an example. So it looks as though they’re exploring additional ideas to retain existing customers & encourage new sign ups
