Well you will need the £500 in there to spend to get the cashback.

no ... you can spend as little or as much as you want but the cashback is limited to £15 a month.

You qualify for the cashback from 1st April if you have paid in (and perhaps immediately withdrawn) £500 the preceding month, you get a text stating you are eligible.
When do you get the text ?

When you have reached the £500 level. In my case I did an in/out transfer from an external account sometime at the beginning of March, which means I will be fine if I keep to my normal routine of maintaining a balance of about £50.

Note: I have edited my previous post to include a link

I didn't get a text (SMS), but can see I have qualified in the app. I might have got a push notification from the app.

I have qualified by bunging £500 quid into my Chase current account and straight back out again at the beginning of the month. I received neither text nor push notification.

Did the same a couple of days ago and I definitely didn't receive a text. I'm not 100% sure if I didn't receive the notification (because I had to restart my phone at one point and when that's done notifications are cleared automatically - but I do remember checking the notications before restarting and  pretty sure there wasn't any notifications from Chase)

I must have notifications turned on for Chase App because when a transaction needs approval I can see a notification.

Btw, last night i checked if Chase  app was showing my eligibility by following the guide posted by @dealyboy in earlier post:

    https://www.chase.co.uk/gb/en/support/cashback-offer/

Yes, it was. App said something like 'eligible for April 2023'.

... sorry for the earlier confusion re text/notification ... I have just checked my hub eSaver (Santander) account ... I transferred £1,000 to my Chase CA on 3rd March and got a message on my smart phone front screen that I had qualified for cashbacks in April, this would have been a notification. I would then have transferred the bulk of it to the Chase SA. I have not bothered to check the Chase app for qualification.

... sorry again for not having had quite the precision I would normally expect from others.

No worries. The cashback status for the following month is always available via the Rewards section of the app.

    Hi,
Does anyone know whether mortgage, council tax  & utility payment switch to direct debit are covered in 1% Chase cash back scheme? That is easily a tenner to 20 for anyone in the current weather, init?

Cashback Exclusions | Chase UK - The literature is not too clear on the above, classic uncle sam. They say they go by merchant category code. Anyone tried?
