As the other poster said, chase does not support CASS so it would have been worth it to read properly about the service they offered as they won’t communicate the switch and close to your original bank. Basically they will manually set up DD and similar on your behalf, rather than transfer the mandates like in CASS. Not sure how it works for creditsCatslovelycats said:I've discovered that trying to switch to Chase bank is nigh on impossible. You have to complete a form and post it them but they are unable to confirm or deny whether they have received it and the staff on the chat are unable to help. They give vague, incomprehensible and unhelpful answers. I've now told them to cancel the switch - which of course they cannot do either! Have informed my bank not to action any request if one comes through. I'm now left with having to transfer money around to avoid overdraft fees. Allowed CHase plenty of time to sort the switch. What a fiasco.

It would probably be advisable to keep the old account open, as automatic redirection would not apply. There is always the option to do a CASS switch to a different current account in the future.Marchitiello said:

So from 1st April, to get the 1% cashback you'll need to deposit £500 a month into your account.
Ah well... All good things.
I'll keep the account as the linked Savings account has a good rate, but back to my trusty old first direct for day to day debit card use.

Do you not have £500 in savings that you can bounce to and from an external account to qualify?philatio said:So from 1st April, to get the 1% cashback you'll need to deposit £500 a month into your account.

Most people on here regularly bounce payments in and out of accounts to meet the various payment requirements… £500 is probably the lowest amount out there.philatio said:So from 1st April, to get the 1% cashback you'll need to deposit £500 a month into your account.

no ... you can spend as little or as much as you want but the cashback is limited to £15 a month.
You qualify for the cashback from 1st April if you have paid in (and perhaps immediately withdrawn) £500 the preceding month, you get a text stating you are eligible.
